Modern Peptides review scorecard: company check, COA library, pricing versus rivals, Reddit and Trustpilot sentiment

You have a Modern Peptides tab open, a BPC-157 listing at $68, and a Reddit thread calling the site an overpriced reseller. Modern Peptides (modern-peptides.com) is a real, operating California vendor, Modern Research LLC, with a street address, card checkout, US-only shipping and a public library of 279 batch COAs that link to Janoshik's own verify pages. It is also the vendor a 2025 forum thread accused of posting a doctored NAD+ certificate, its domain was registered in July 2025 despite a "since 2022" claim, and its prices run two to three times above the vendors we have already reviewed. Legit to order from, expensive, and worth a COA check on every vial.

Which Modern Peptides Is This Review About?

Three domains carry a version of this name, and only one is the company people argue about on Reddit. This review covers modern-peptides.com, whose footer reads "Modern Research LLC" and whose logo reads "Modern Peptides."

DomainWhat it isStatus when fetched
modern-peptides.comModern Research LLC storefront, Westlake Village, CA (this review)Live, 70 products, COA library
modernpeptides.comHyphen-free domain; Finnrick lists it on the same vendor profileBlocked our fetch; Trustpilot page holds 3 reviews
modernresearchpeptides.comContent site, "no substances offered for sale"Live, no shop
modernresearchpeptides.net"Modern Research Peptides (MRP)", login-gated 21+ shopBlocked our fetch; separate Finnrick profile

Nothing on either modernresearchpeptides site names Modern Research LLC. We found no evidence of common ownership, so the 4.2-star Trustpilot page for modernresearchpeptides.net (19 reviews, 85% five-star) counts neither for nor against the vendor reviewed here. We hit the same lookalike trap in the NextGen Peptides review and the Planet Peptides review; confirm the hyphen before you compare a price.

What Modern Peptides Sells

The shop page returned 70 listings when we fetched it. The GLP-class shelf uses code names: GLP-1 S in 5 mg to 30 mg vials, GLP-2 T, described as a GLP-1/GIP agonist in 15 mg to 100 mg vials, and GLP-3 R, a GLP-1/GIP/glucagon agonist in 5 mg to 60 mg vials. The words semaglutide, tirzepatide and retatrutide appear nowhere on the catalog page.

Repair and growth-hormone compounds fill the rest: BPC-157, TB-500, BPC/TB blends, CJC-1295, ipamorelin, tesamorelin, sermorelin, NAD+ in 500 mg and 1,000 mg vials, cagrilintide, mazdutide, survodutide and a long bioregulator shelf, plus bacteriostatic water and storage cases.

Two catalog details matter for trust. Vial sizes are missing from most shop listings, so a $68 to $98 range for BPC-157 tells you nothing until you open the product page. And while no oral products show on the shop today, the COA library still lists "BPC-157 & TB500 Tablets" and a "GLP-1 O Agonist Tablet" batch, and an archived May 2026 copy of the site had tablet product pages. A November 2025 Reddit commenter called BPC-157 capsules "the biggest sign" the shop was not serious.

Testing Transparency: The COA Library and the 2025 Allegation

The vendor's FAQ states that "every batch is analyzed by an independent laboratory before it is listed" and names Janoshik, TrustPointe and Vanguard. The COA library backs that with 119 current, 56 upcoming and 104 previous certificates, each tagged with a BN batch code meant to match the vial label.

We tabulated the 107 current entries visible to us. Janoshik covers nearly all of them, TrustPointe covers three bacteriostatic water lots (USP sterility, PASS). Each Janoshik row carries a report number and a "Verify on Janoshik" link with the unique key. We followed the BPC-157 link (report 99765, batch BN-26BP20-001, 99.497%) and it resolved to a Janoshik-hosted "Test Report #99765" page, the right behavior for a genuine certificate. Janoshik's site blocked our direct fetch, so we could not read the report image itself.

The purity numbers are less tidy than the FAQ. It promises single peptides "released at 98.9% or higher," yet the library shows Epitalon lot BN-25EN10-001 at 89.029%, IGF-1 LR3 at 96.364%, GHRP-6 at 96.823%, and three more lots between 97.6% and 97.9%. Six listed lots sit under the vendor's own floor. Blends show no purity figure, no entry shows a test date, and the page never says HPLC or mass spectrometry.

Then the allegation. A glp1forum thread titled "Vendor warning Modern Peptides" (14 replies, last edited April 29, 2025) states that a NAD+ COA on the vendor's site had its Janoshik key and QR code removed, that Janoshik traced the report number to a bacteriostatic water test from an overseas supplier, and that the certificates came down after two lab operators objected. A January 2026 SeekPeptides write-up repeats the account. Nobody saved a copy, no lab has published a statement we could find, and the vendor has not addressed it. Today's library lists two NAD+ batches with verify links but no purity value. Treat it as unresolved, and verify every NAD+ key yourself the way our Prime Peptides review walks through.

The paperwork matters because synthetic peptides pick up structural impurities from starting materials, the manufacturing process and storage, and LC-MS is the method that characterizes them (Lian et al., J Am Soc Mass Spectrom, 2021, PMID 34110145). Impurities with amino-acid insertions, deletions or side-chain modifications can change a peptide's immunogenicity risk profile (Roberts et al., Front Pharmacol, 2024, PMID 39185315). A certificate you cannot verify is a purity number you cannot use; the rest of the checklist is in our peptide safety guide.

Pricing vs Vendors We Have Already Reviewed

Price is the one thing every Reddit thread agrees on. These are the shop-page ranges we fetched in October 2026 against figures from our other vendor reviews and cost guides.

BPC-157$68 to $98 (current lot is 20 mg)Polaris $25 (5 mg), $50 (10 mg); NextGen $30 to $55; Planet $37 (10 mg)$25 to $50 per 5 mg, $45 to $85 per 10 mg

Modern Peptides charges roughly two to three times what Polaris Peptides or Planet Peptide charge for the same compound, and sits above the ranges in how much do peptides cost. The shop page does not pair sizes with prices, so run the exact vial through the peptide cost calculator before judging the per-milligram figure.

What you get for the premium is a domestic address, card checkout and a Janoshik key per batch. A buyer running a multi-month protocol pays that premium many times over. "Research Credits" return 1 credit per dollar at 20 credits to the dollar, which is 5% back, expiring after 12 months.

Shipping, Payment and Refunds

The logistics pages are the most concrete part of the site, as written in October 2026.

  • Shipping: UPS and FedEx from a West Coast fulfillment partner. Orders process within 24 hours; orders before noon Pacific usually leave the same day. Standard delivery runs 3 to 5 business days, expedited 2 or fewer. $12 standard, $28 expedited, free over $300. US only, Puerto Rico excluded.
  • Shipping Protection: Optional $9 per order through ParcelGuard; a package with no movement for 14 days is reshipped "no questions asked." Without it, product that arrives unusable is still replaced at no charge.
  • Payment: Visa, Mastercard and Discover, processed in the US, plus verified ACH from a US bank. The FAQ states "we do not use cryptocurrency or third-party redemption programs," so your chargeback rights survive.
  • Returns: Unopened, unused product can be returned if you contact the vendor within 7 calendar days of receipt and it reaches them within 30 days of purchase, on a prepaid label. Refunds go back minus shipping in 7 to 10 business days.
  • Chargebacks: A chargeback filed without contacting the vendor first is contested, and the account is suspended until it resolves.
  • Account gate: Registration requires an organization and classification, age 18 or older, and "is not automatic approval."

The FAQ's storage guidance matches ours: lyophilized vials at 2 to 8 °C short-term or minus 20 °C long-term, away from light. Once you open a vial the clock changes; see how to store peptides and, if you buy their bacteriostatic water, bacteriostatic water vs sterile water for why the TrustPointe sterility PASS matters.

Reddit, Trustpilot and Forum Sentiment, With Counts

We pulled Reddit submissions and comments through a public archive and fetched every Trustpilot and forum page we could reach.

Reddit: 9 threads, roughly 40 comments, May 2025 to January 2026, across r/Peptidesource, r/Peptides, r/SemaglutideFreeSpeech, r/PeptideForum, r/Retatrutide and r/BodyHackGuide. Almost all ask "is Modern Peptides legit?" The dominant reply, in at least 10 comments, is "overpriced reseller," with several users guessing a 10x markup over gray-market kits. Three posters reported deliveries: a June 2025 tirzepatide-class order that "arrived in less than 5 days, label matched," a May 2025 buyer whose vial "eventually kicked in," and a December 2025 retatrutide-class buyer who felt nothing on day two. A January 2026 post praising the Janoshik tests was auto-filtered as a suspected shill. We found zero non-delivery reports and zero reports of a Janoshik key failing to verify.

Trustpilot: no page for modern-peptides.com. The hyphenated domain and modernresearchpeptides.com both returned 404. The hyphen-free modernpeptides.com, which Finnrick lists on the same vendor profile, holds 3 reviews at 3.1: a February 2026 one-star claiming illness after a GLP-1 product and a refused COA and refund, a December 2025 five-star citing reliable product and COA testing, and a November 2025 one-star over unanswered reconstitution questions. That reviewer noted the company had "changed its website address twice." Three reviews cannot score a vendor.

Forums and trackers: the glp1forum fake-COA thread is the only substantive forum record. Finnrick's profile shows 0 published tests and no rating. One automated checker gave the domain 46/100, flagging "medical-risk signals"; such scores are not findings. A thin record puts the burden on you, the same problem we hit in the Nexaph Peptides review.

Red Flags, Green Flags and Who It Suits

Green flags:

  • A named legal entity, street address and phone number, plus a disclaimer that it is "not a pharmacy, compounding pharmacy, 503A or 503B facility."
  • Card and ACH checkout with no crypto, so your bank can reverse a bad transaction.
  • 279 batch-tagged COAs with Janoshik report numbers and verify links.
  • Written shipping, return and replacement policies with specific day counts and dollar amounts.

Red flags:

  • The 2025 fake NAD+ COA allegation, unresolved in public, with today's NAD+ entries showing no purity figure.
  • Domain registered July 2025 against a "since 2022" claim, and a reviewer reporting two website-address changes.
  • Six listed lots below the vendor's own 98.9% floor, with no test dates and no stated method on the library page.
  • Prices two to three times the vendors we rate as competitive, with vial sizes hidden until you open a product page.

Who it suits: a US buyer who wants a single vial, pays by card, and will type the Janoshik key into the lab's own verify page before reconstituting. Who should skip it: anyone running a multi-month protocol on a budget, anyone outside the US, and anyone buying NAD+ until the vendor publishes a verified purity number. For documented alternatives, start with the Peptide Sciences alternatives guide.

The stakes are not abstract. A 2024 market-surveillance study found 59 illegal online pharmacy websites selling semaglutide without a prescription and test-purchased product for sterility, endotoxin and LC-MS analysis because substandard and falsified products circulate in the unregulated supply chain (Ashraf et al., J Med Internet Res, 2024, PMID 39509151). Regulators acknowledge gaps in how impurities in follow-on peptide products are assessed for immunogenicity risk (Puig et al., Front Immunol, 2025, PMID 40607385). Whatever you buy, mix it with the reconstitution calculator and respect the window in how long reconstituted peptides last.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Modern Peptides legit?

Modern Peptides (modern-peptides.com) is a real California vendor, Modern Research LLC, with a street address, card checkout and 279 batch COAs linked to Janoshik verify pages. It is not a take-the-money scam, but a 2025 fake-COA allegation and prices 2x to 3x above rivals in our where to buy peptides 2026 guide mean you verify every vial.

What does Reddit say about Modern Peptides?

Nine threads from May 2025 to January 2026 ask whether the vendor is legit. At least 10 comments call it an overpriced reseller, three buyers reported deliveries that arrived and matched their labels, and nobody reported a lost order. Compare the pattern with the price-driven threads in our Planet Peptides review.

Does Modern Peptides have a Trustpilot page?

Not under modern-peptides.com; that page returned 404 in October 2026. The hyphen-free modernpeptides.com holds 3 reviews at 3.1, and modernresearchpeptides.net, a separate business, holds 19 reviews at 4.2. For a vendor with real review volume, see the 397-review profile in our NextGen Peptides review.

Are Modern Peptides COAs real Janoshik tests?

Each current batch lists a Janoshik report number and a verify link with the unique key, and the BPC-157 link we followed resolved to a Janoshik-hosted report page. A 2025 forum thread alleged one NAD+ certificate had its key removed. Verify the key on Janoshik yourself using the steps in our Prime Peptides review.

How much does BPC-157 cost at Modern Peptides?

The shop page lists BPC-157 at $68 to $98, and the current COA batch is a 20 mg lot. Polaris charges $25 for 5 mg and $50 for 10 mg, and the research-market range is $45 to $85 per 10 mg. Run your exact vial through the peptide cost calculator for a per-milligram figure.

Does Modern Peptides sell semaglutide, tirzepatide or retatrutide?

Not by name. The catalog sells GLP-1 S (5 to 30 mg), GLP-2 T, described as a GLP-1/GIP agonist, and GLP-3 R, a GLP-1/GIP/glucagon agonist, at $69 to $620 depending on size. Those three compound names never appear on the shop page. Read are peptides legal for why vendors use code names.

Does Modern Peptides ship internationally or accept crypto?

No to both. Shipping is limited to US addresses excluding Puerto Rico, by UPS or FedEx, at $12 standard or $28 expedited and free over $300. Payment is Visa, Mastercard, Discover or ACH only, and the FAQ rules out cryptocurrency. Once a vial arrives, follow how to store peptides to protect it.

What is the Modern Peptides refund policy?

Unopened, unused product can be returned if you contact the vendor within 7 days of receipt and ship it back within 30 days of purchase on a prepaid label; refunds minus shipping arrive in 7 to 10 business days. Chargebacks filed first are contested. Reconstituted vials cannot be returned, so mix only what you need with the reconstitution calculator.

The Bottom Line

Modern Peptides is an operating California vendor with a legal entity, card checkout and a 279-batch COA library that points at Janoshik's own verify pages. It is also expensive, carries an unresolved 2025 fake-COA allegation on NAD+, lists six lots under its own purity floor, and has a domain younger than its "since 2022" claim.

The rule for this vendor is the rule for every research-compound seller: the certificate is the product. Type the Janoshik key into the lab's verify page before you break the seal, and treat any batch without a purity figure as untested.
