Front and Outer Thigh

The injection zone covers the middle third of the front or outer thigh, between the knee and the hip. Stay at least four inches above the kneecap and four inches below the hip crease. The vastus lateralis muscle lies underneath, so adequate fat is essential to avoid intramuscular delivery.

Thigh injections are easy to self-administer. You can inject while sitting, which relaxes the muscle and makes the fat layer more accessible. The main limitation is fat thickness: lean individuals, particularly men with low body fat in the legs, may have only 0.5 cm of subcutaneous tissue here. Supplies You Need

Drawing the Dose

  1. 1.Remove the vial from the refrigerator. Let it sit at room temperature for 2 to 3 minutes. Cold solution can sting more upon injection.
